Lake Oconee!

Located just North of Lake Sinclair, Lake Oconee was completed in 1980 by Georgia Power to generate hydroelectric power. It is the second largest lake on Georgia, measuring 19,000 acres with 375 miles of shoreline. Lake Oconee has proven to be an excellent source of recreation for those interested in fishing, boating or skiing.
If you are looking for a place to relocate, Lake Oconee is the place. Reynolds Plantations, Cuscowilla, Harbor Club, and Port Armor are all golf communities with nationally recognized courses. Home sites are available in a wide variety of price ranges. Fine homes and cottages are nestled along the wooded shoreline. More than 100 communities have been carefully developed. Developers, Property Owners Associations and the surrounding counties of Morgan, Greene and Putnam all play and active role to assure clean, attractive surroundings. Covenants, zoning and building restrictions combine to protect your investment.

The area offers excellent dinning, shopping, medical facilities, the University of Georgia, Georgia College and State University. Other attractions in the Lake Oconee area include the Civil War era Governor's mansion in Milledgeville, the Uncle Remus Museum in Eatonton, which houses memorabilia of Joel Chandler Harris, author of Song of the South, and Rock Eagle 4-H Conference Center, where a prehistoric Indian mound shaped like an eagle is located. The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center in Madison offers art exhibits, concerts and drama.
The Ritz-Carlton Lodge offers a great place to getaway that is easily accessible. In addition to golf, the resort offers amenities such as fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, jogging, and equestrian activities.
